RCI, Freedom of the Seas - Caribbean - 5/09

Royal Caribbean International's Freedom of The Seas from your teen cruising divas eyes. Tongue out

Ok, so this was my first cruisee. I was freakishly nervous about it. I mean what if the boat sank???? Or if someone set it on fire??? IM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN AND THE BOATS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE!!!! Oh wait. No it's not on firee. Ok! Anyways, this was probably the best vacation EVER. I went with my Nana, Family of 4, and then my uncles family of 3. We really only saw each other in the morning and then at dinner! haha. Ok let's start at the beginning of the cruise:

EMBARKATION

So this is the busiest and craziest part of your cruise. It was fairly simple, but the lines were kind of long. The identification part was fairly quick, just make sure you have ALL of the papers you need in your hand before you get to the guy! You will be sent to the back of the line if not!!! After that, you will have your bags X-Rayed and checked. So no bombs. Sorry. LOL, then you will get your Cruise Cards that will be the key to your room, a credit card kind of, and the key to how will you get off the ship and back on at ports of call! If you lose it, don't worry, just go to the front desk and ask for a new one. It's free too, I probably got 12 (throwing them off the elevator, LOL.) After that, you have your picture taken (GREAT souvenier), and then you board your awesome ship!

FIRST HOURS

The first few hours are a great time to lay down on your comfy cozy bed, watch some movies, and watch the video that plays 24/7 on a tv channel that tells all the rules! Your luggage arrives fairly quickly (well mine did anyways!) and please tip the porter! It is not required, but very appreciated! About 2 hours after you bord the ship, you will finally depart on your wonderful cruise! We stood on our balcony and watched the ship depart Miami FL. The top decks are pretty crazy then, so that will probably be your best place to be! It's also a great Kodak moment if you would like to have a PHOTOSHOOT! Haha, then you can wonder all around the ship!

DAY AT SEA

Your first full day on the ship will more than likely be a day at sea. This means your entire day will be at sea. Lol. These days are great to go to the pool, play some bingo, or if you're a teen, then hang out in The Living Room with your new friends! The pools will get crowded quickly, so you need to get there early. The casino is usually always open, so if you're in the mood to gamble you can also do that. You can Ice skate, rock climb, surf, putt-putt, the fun is endless!!!!

PORT OF CALL #1- COCO CAY

This island is AMAZING!!! There's a waterpark, waterslide, hammocks, cabanas, Kiddie play stuff, shopping, and like a fajillion different things to do!!! What I did: Layed at the beach, rode water ski's, and played in the water park!!! TONS OF FUN :D

PORT OF CALL #2 - ST.THOMAS, U.S.V.I

This island was also a lot of fun!!! I shopped the whole day, but you can sightsee mountains, chillax at the beach, see pirate forts (AWESOMENESS)...... Again, the fun is endless!!!

PORT OF CALL #3- ST. MAARTEN

This was probably my favorite port of call. I chilled at the beach, scuba diving (it was amazing, must try!) and rode water ski's! It was like you had left the craziness and war and bad things on earth and went to another planet where all is amazing. I'm serious, it makes you take a look at life somewhat! You can also shop and sightsee also.

 DEPARTATION.... )':

This is definetly the saddest part of your cruise. You have to eventually leave (tear,tear...) You will feel like crying (well I did!) There are three rooms that you can stay in while you wait to leave... The Quiet Room, this is the room if you want to sleep some, or just chillax! The Family Room, where you can take and chillax and watch cartoons :D Then you can go to the Buffet and have some breakfast! And then you have to leave.... I wanted to hide, but my mom wouldn't let me.... Again, you do mainly the same thing you did as embarkation, except a lot less fun. Hahaha, anyway, have a great cruise!
