New RCI Ship Alleged to Have Ineffective Wastewater Treatment
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Nov. 16, 2003 -- Floridians angry about RCI's refusal to stop dumping inadequately treated sewage held a rally today protesting the maiden voyage of the company's newest ship, Mariner of the Seas. The new vessel has only a relatively ineffective Marine Sanitation Device (MSD) to treat its wastewater.
RCL Denies Negotiations to Stop Dumping Sewage; Oceana Details Litany of Concerns
WASHINGTON, July 22, 2003 -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) denied yesterday that it had been in negotiations with the ocean advocacy group Oceana to stop dumping sewage from their ships. Oceana responded today with a detailed account of negotiations and RCLs' apparently limited environmental concern.
