SHANGHAI, China, Dec. 15, 2008 -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. today announced it is opening two new offices in China, in the cities of Beijing and Guangzhou. These offices are in addition to a Shanhai facility, which opened in July 2007.

MIAMI, Dec. 10, 2008 -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. today announced their selection of Brazilian cruise industry veteran Ricardo Amaral as managing director of its operations in Brazil. In the newly created position, Amaral will oversee all commercial and operational activities for three of the company's brands, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises.

MIAMI, Dec. 12, 2008 -- This holiday season, Celebrity and sister brand Azamara tout a collection of awards and honors the brands have received this year from travel partners, press, cruise guests and authorities in some of the industry.

Mini-rant here. What's up with cruise lines (and companies in general) describing luxurious things as "European". I lived in Europe for three years, my husband for seven, and with the exception of the food, neither of us found European service or amenities better than what is available in major US cities, usually at better prices.

MIAMI, May 6, 2008 -- Azamara today celebrates a year since its first sailing. The line is marking its anniversary with a complimentary champagne toast at sailaway today for all guests on both ships, capped with a special sweet treat with turndown service, and an internal celebration at the company's Miami, Miramar and Wichita locations.

MIAMI, April 30, 2007 -- Azamara has announced a menu of relatively exotic 10 and 12-night cruises in the Caribbean for the winter and early spring season 2009-2010. The 694-guest Azamara Journey will visit a number of relatively unusual ports including Castries, St. Lucia and Bequia in the Grenadines.

MIAMI, April 22, 2008 -- Starting May 1, guests making new bookings on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara will pay higher fuel surcharges.
