Carnival's New Pricing Includes Port Charges

MIAMI, Feb. 5 -- Later this month, Carnival Cruise Lines will
adjust its Florida newspaper advertising so that the prices will include the
cruise fare as well as port charges in a single amount.

The change is a result of an agreement Carnival has reached with the
Attorney General's Office for the State of Florida under which the company is
voluntarily changing the way it advertises its cruise prices.

Carnival President Bob Dickinson said that Carnival officials have been
meeting with the Attorney General's Office regarding that office's review of
the longtime practice of advertising cruise fares without including port
charges. Dickinson said that Carnival adopted the practice when the company
was started in 1972. "We just went along with the industry norm; that was
simply the way it was done. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean it can't be
handled a different way."

The Florida newspaper advertisements will feature the new pricing beginning
February 23, 1997, and will be reflected in the line's brochures when the new
brochure is published. Modified newspaper advertising outside the state will
be in place before June 1, 1997.
