Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America Line Announce Cruise Discountsfor AARP Members
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., March 13 -- Carnival Cruise Lines and
Holland America Line announced today that they have introduced a cruise
discount program in cooperation with the American Association of Retired
Persons (AARP). The program enables members who are booking Carnival Cruise
Lines to save $100 per stateroom on 7 day or longer cruises or $50 per
stateroom on 3 or 4 day cruises. Members can also save an additional $100 per
stateroom on Holland America Line cruises or Alaska cruisetours.
"One goal of AARP is to bring additional values and savings to our
membership," commented Wayne Haefer, Director, AARP Membership Group. "We
know that our members take cruises on a regular basis. Our new cruise
discount program enables our membership to get the cruise products that they
like, at an even better rate."
The program was announced in a recent issue of the Bulletin, the
Association's monthly newsletter, as well as through AARP's Website
(http://www.aarp.org) and other membership publications. Members are directed
to call 1-800-88RELAX to learn more about the cruise discounts, check rates
and restrictions, and make reservations. A staff of experienced vacation
counselors is dedicated to assisting AARP members with their cruise travel
plans.
The discounts are initially being offered on two cruise lines that have a
reputation for serving the needs of the mature market, Carnival Cruise Lines
and Holland America Line. Carnival's glittering fleet offers a wide variety
of cruises from 3 to 16 days throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexican
Riviera, Alaska and Hawaii. Holland America Line has a reputation for "world
class" service and cruise itineraries. Its five star rated fleet offers
extended cruises which circumnavigate the globe, cruise to the South Pacific,
Hawaii, Europe and through the Panama Canal as well as luxury cruises to the
Caribbean and extensive cruise and tour vacation packages to Alaska and the
Canadian Rockies. Together the two lines combine to offer AARP members a wide
range of product offerings.
AARP is the nation's leading organization for people 50 and older. It
serves their needs and interests through informative programs and community
services provided by a network of local chapters and experienced volunteers
throughout the country and through legislative advocacy. The organization
also offers members a wide range of special benefits, including Modern
Maturity and the monthly Bulletin.
