GREAT FALLS, Va., Jan. 7 -- The Family Travel Network, the
nation's most popular online family travel site, announced the winners of its
"Best of '97" member poll.

The poll was conducted on America Online (AOL) during the months of Nov. and
Dec. 1997. Members were asked to submit their favorite family vacation
experiences for the 1997 year. Over a thousand votes and comments were
tabulated to determine the top five winners in each of four categories: Best
Family Vacation Destination; Best Family Resort; Best Family Cruise Line; and
Best Family Ski Resort.

Winners in each category were as follows:

Best Family Destination: Walt Disney World, FL; Maui, HI; Las Vegas, NV; The
Big Island, HI; and Sanibel/Captiva Islands, FL.

Best Family Resort: the Grand Wailea Resort, Maui, HI; Atlantis Resort,
Paradise Island, Bahamas; Hilton Waikoloa Village, Big Island, HI; Club Med
Sandpiper, FL; and the Hyatt Cerromar Beach, Puerto Rico.

Best Family Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean International; Carnival Cruise
Lines; Celebrity Cruises; Princess Cruises; and, in fifth place, a tie between
the Big Red Boat (Premier Cruise Lines) and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Best Family Ski Resort: Smugglers' Notch Resort, VT; Steamboat, CO;
Aspen/Snowmass, CO; Copper Mountain, CO; and Keystone, CO.

"Parents place a high value on family travel recommendations made by other

results of this 'Members' Choice' poll gives parents information on vacation
alternatives that have worked well for many families over the past year."
