SeaVision, Inc. Announces Revised Agreement with Carnival Corporation
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 29 -- SeaVision, Inc., a subsidiary of Allin
Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: ALLN), has announced that it has reached
an agreement with Carnival Cruise Lines regarding the ongoing operation of
interactive television (ITV) systems onboard the Carnival vessels the m.s.
Imagination and m.s. Carnival Destiny. Under the terms of the agreement,
effective January 1, 1998, Carnival will provide a financial subsidy to
SeaVision to support the "free to passenger" services provided through
SeaVision's ITV systems. The agreement is cancelable by either party upon
written notice to the other. All other terms of the original agreement remain
unchanged. SeaVision and Carnival have further agreed to continue discussions
regarding the installation of SeaVision's ITV system aboard additional
Carnival vessels.
"This agreement with Carnival provides a solid revenue foundation for the
operation and enhancement of the FunVision ITV system aboard these vessels,"
notes Mr. Brian K. Blair, President of SeaVision. "An example of this
commitment by SeaVision is the ongoing installation of our newly developed
OSCAR video server aboard these vessels. The development of the OSCAR video
server, which allows SeaVision to provide multiple concurrent streams of MPEG1
and MPEG2 digital video, upgrades the ITV system to the latest available
technology."
