Still Time to Save Up to $2,900 (CDN $3,920) Per Couple on a HollandAmerica Line Seven-Day Vacation Cruise to Alaska

SEATTLE, Jan. 15 -- There's still time to plan a 1998 dream
cruise vacation to the Great Land of tall evergreens, soaring mountains,
teeming wildlife and majestic glaciers -- and save big, too.

Travelers still have until Feb. 13 to take advantage of Holland America
Line's Early Booking Discount of up to $2,900 [CDN $3,920] per couple on an
Alaska cruise.

With the 25 percent early booking savings, cruise-only fares start at just
$949 [CDN $1,275] per person, double occupancy, including port charges and
taxes. In addition to substantial savings, booking early also allows
travelers their choice of ship, stateroom category, dining seating, sailing
date and itinerary.

For 1998, travelers may choose from a record 120 cruise departures aboard
one of Holland America Line's luxurious five-star ships, including the ms
Maasdam and ms Ryndam, rated among the top 10 cruise ships in the world by the
readers of Travel & Leisure magazine.

Both Travel & Leisure and Conde Mast Traveler magazine also named Holland
America as the highest rated major cruise line.

Travelers sailing on board Holland America Line will relax in comfort in
staterooms that are 25 percent larger than those of the "grand" ships of other
cruise lines.

They'll also enjoy the interpretive programs presented by the on-board
naturalist who sails on board every one of Holland America's Alaska cruises to
help visitors better understand and appreciate what they are viewing. And
children will be able to participate in shore excursions geared especially for
them, an exclusive offering from Holland America.

Holland America Line offers seven-day cruises from May 7 to Sept. 21, with
departures from Vancouver, British Columbia, or Seward, Alaska, every day
except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All of the cruises include a journey through
the famed Inside Passage and 80 cruises visit spectacular Glacier Bay National
Park.

On 18 of the southbound sailings, the ships will make a day-long visit to
Glacier Bay National Park, in addition to calling at Sitka, Juneau and
Ketchikan. The same three ports, plus Valdez, are featured on the remaining
40 cruises, which also include scenic cruising past Hubbard Glacier in
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and the glaciers of College Fjord.
