SEATTLE, Jan. 15 -- There's still time to plan a 1998 dream
cruise vacation to the Great Land of tall evergreens, soaring mountains,

Travelers still have until Feb. 13 to take advantage of Holland America
Line's Early Booking Discount of up to $2,900 [CDN $3,920] per couple on an
Alaska cruise.

With the 25 percent early booking savings, cruise-only fares start at just
$949 [CDN $1,275] per person, double occupancy, including port charges and
taxes. In addition to substantial savings, booking early also allows
travelers their choice of ship, stateroom category, dining seating, sailing
date and itinerary.

For 1998, travelers may choose from a record 120 cruise departures aboard
one of Holland America Line's luxurious five-star ships, including the ms
Maasdam and ms Ryndam, rated among the top 10 cruise ships in the world by the
readers of Travel & Leisure magazine.

Both Travel & Leisure and Conde Mast Traveler magazine also named Holland

Travelers sailing on board Holland America Line will relax in comfort in

1,214-passenger ms Noordam.

On 18 of the southbound sailings, the ships will make a day-long visit to
Glacier Bay National Park, in addition to calling at Sitka, Juneau and
Ketchikan. The same three ports, plus Valdez, are featured on the remaining
40 cruises, which also include scenic cruising past Hubbard Glacier in
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and the glaciers of College Fjord.

62 Glacier Bay Inside Passage Cruises on Maasdam, Nieuw Amsterdam and
Westerdam

1998 marks the return of the 1,266-passenger Maasdam, sister ship to the
Statendam and Ryndam, and the 1,494-passenger ms Westerdam to Alaska's Inside.
Joining them will be the 1,214-passenger ms Nieuw Amsterdam, sister ship to
the Noordam.

The three ships will sail on 62 seven-day Glacier Bay Inside Passage cruises
round-trip from Vancouver. The Statendam also will offer two round-trip
Inside Passage cruises, departing on May 10 and Sept. 20.

All Glacier Bay Inside Passage cruises feature port calls at Juneau, Skagway
and Ketchikan, in addition to a full day spent cruising Glacier Bay National
Park.
