Royal Caribbean Names Helen Morin Stephan Godmother Of Its Newest Ship,Vision Of The Seas
MIAMI, March 11 -- Royal Caribbean International has named
Helen Morin Stephan godmother of its newest ship, Vision of the Seas, now
nearing completion in France. As godmother, Mrs. Stephan will officially give
the ship its name during ceremonies in Southampton, England, April 26. Vision
of the Seas will be the 12th ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet and the last of
six Vision-class vessels built for the company representing a key phase of its
expansion program.
Mrs. Stephan, the wife of Royal Caribbean's founder and Vice Chairman, Edwin
Stephan, grew up in Miami, attended business college here and joined Royal
Caribbean the day after she graduated. Her business career paralleled the
growth of the cruise line, beginning as Executive Secretary just before Royal
Caribbean's first ship was delivered. She later became responsible for
contracting and coordinating the fleet's All Star Entertainment shows,
including the logistics of flying guest entertainers and headliners among
three ships to achieve balance and variety for the line's one- and two-week
Caribbean itineraries. No longer active in the day-to-day corporate activities
of the cruise line, Mrs. Stephan left Royal Caribbean to fulfill her role of
mother and homemaker for the Stephan's two children, Samantha and Michael.
Mrs. Stephan's duties as godmother of Royal Caribbean's newest cruise ship
will include giving the vessel its name during the Southampton ceremonies when
she will break a giant 46-liter bottle of Perrier Jouet champagne against the
ship's hull, officially proclaiming the ship's name to be Vision of the Seas
and wishing safe journeys to all its passengers and crew.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is a global cruise company operating two cruise

berths. The ships currently visit Alaska, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the
