Carnival Begins CruiseView Retrofit On Existing Ship

ALPHARETTA, Ga.---Jan. 19, 1999--The Network Connection,
Inc. (TNCi) (NASDAQ:TNCX) announced today that Carnival Cruise Lines, the
world's largest cruise line, has released an order under a four-year contract
announced in September 1998 for the installation and maintenance of
CruiseView(R), TNCi's advanced interactive television entertainment system,
for immediate retrofit installation on an existing Carnival Cruise Lines ship
in commercial use.

According to Wil Riner, TNCi Chairman and CEO, "We are excited as a first
step to be able to retrofit all passenger cabins on an existing Carnival ship
with the all-digital CruiseView product."

The CruiseView all-digital system can support personal interactive
entertainment and video/audio on demand, shopping, multi-player games,
gambling, shore excursion/event booking, Internet and business services, all
simultaneously, independently and with full user control via a wireless
television remote control in each cabin or information kiosks throughout the
ship. CruiseView can also provide interactive training for crew cabins or
shared areas at the same time.

Carnival Cruise Lines is the world's largest cruise line based on passengers
carried. The line currently operates 13 ships and has five more vessels under
construction slated for delivery over the next four years, representing an
investment of approximately $2.1 billion.

TNCi, designs, manufactures and distributes the Cheetah(R) family of video
server platforms that enable the storage and delivery of up to 700 hours of
digital video/audio data to up to 300 simultaneous video/audio users over
local area networks. Cheetah(R) servers are used to bring interactive,
on-demand, full-motion video training, education and entertainment to the
networked client computers in the corporate, home, educational and cruise ship
