NCL Reports Record-Setting Revenue Week - Line Experiences BiggestSingle Revenue Week During Start of 'Wave Month' -

MIAMI, Jan. 13 -- Norwegian Cruise Line announced that an
all-time company record in revenues and new booking activity occurred for the
week of January 4 - 10, 1999. During the start of this "Wave Month" period,
traditionally the cruise industry's busiest time of year, reservations call
volume and CRS transactions at NCL were up 64 percent, new bookings increased
by 44 percent and net ticket revenue was up 37 percent over the same period
last year.

Commenting on the booking surge, NCL President and CEO Geir Aune said, "This
is great news for NCL and we are extremely pleased to see such strong trade
and consumer support for the cruise vacation experience we are offering."

According to Art Sbarsky, executive vice president, the surge in bookings is
partially attributable to NCL's "Sale of All Sails," a major sales initiative
which was introduced in mid-December. "Since 35 to 40 percent of our cruises
for the entire year are booked in January and February, we decided to
jump-start 1999 bookings by introducing a major consumer promotion just prior
to the January push. Obviously, this is paying off in a significant and
meaningful way for NCL and our valued travel partners."
