Carnival to Hold Press Conference at National Transportation SafetyBoard Hearings

Carnival Cruise Lines is scheduled to hold a news conference following the
first day of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) public hearings
examining the fire aboard the cruise ship Ecstasy on July 20, 1998.

The conference is slated to begin approximately 15 minutes after the
conclusion of the first day's proceedings Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Hyatt
Regency Miami, 400 SE Second Ave. The exact time of the press conference is
contingent upon when the hearing adjourns. The session is expected to end by 6
p.m., but could adjourn earlier.

The media discussion is to be held in Orchid Room A, located near the Tuttle
Room on the Hyatt's Terrace Level, where the hearings are to be staged.

Carnival Cruise Lines President Bob Dickinson is to provide statements and
answer questions at the conference.

Tim Gallagher, Carnival vice president of public relations, and Andy Newman
of Stuart Newman Associates, Carnival's outside media relations firm, will be
present throughout the hearings.
