From Glacial Ice Treks to Gourmet Picnics in the Rainforest, CrystalCruises Debuts New Adventures in Alaska and Canada

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5 -- "The New Frontier" has never been so
new.

In conjunction with its 1999 Alaska/Canada sailings, luxury cruise
specialist Crystal Cruises has added seven new shore tours to its already
diverse roster of land programs. As the only Six-Star rated ship cruising the
region in 1999, the award-winning Crystal Harmony is offering excursions to
indulge every taste for adventure and the finer things in life.

The comprehensive program of shore excursions and overland tours complement
Crystal Harmony's summer season from June 4 through Sept. 8 for a total of
eight 12-day Alaska/Canada voyages round-trip from San Francisco.

"By listening to past guests and our experienced shipboard staff, we
continually refine our Alaska offerings -- and this season we have truly
outdone ourselves," says Craig Laforest, Crystal Cruises' director, land
programs. "These new offerings showcase the best of the region and will
appeal to all types of travelers, whether adventure-seekers, wildlife
enthusiasts, history buffs, dedicated naturalists or pure sybarites."

Crystal's shore excursions extend the line's award-winning shipboard product
ashore. The new offerings are no exception:

For the mountaineer, Crystal offers a Helicopter Glacier Trek from Juneau,
complete with climbing boots, cramp-ons, harness and an ice axe. This
excursion is also well-suited for photo buffs, as the Juneau icefield offers
rare glimpses of glacial moraines, crevasses, moulins, ice tubes and seracs.

Two new adventure options from Skagway transport guests in flightplanes,
four wheel drive vehicles, canoes, and high-speed jet boats. The Glacier
Point Wilderness Safari combines scenic flights with an all-terrain trek
through the rain forest, a glacier walk and canoe ride among icebergs. The
Haines Wilderness Sightseeing by Jet Boat leads Crystal guests from the
typical Alaska frontier town of Haines through the Lynn Canal, North America's
longest and deepest fjord, to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve to see massive
nests, possibly bear and moose.

Guests may also spot wildlife such as bald eagles, ravens and herons on the
Douglas Island Nature Walk (Juneau) and seals and sea birds, including
guillements and marbled murrelets, during the Misty Fjords Wilderness Flight
and Cruise (Ketchikan).

On yet another mode of transportation, the White Pass Scenic Railway
excursion combines a picturesque ride aboard an old-fashioned parlour car
retracing the White Pass and Yukon Route railroad with a glimpse into an
historic gold-rush camp.

On Bowen Island by Land, Sea and Air, guests depart Vancouver on a ferry to
Snug Cove on Bowen Island and savor a gourmet picnic prepared by one of
Canada's leading chefs.

A broad range of whale watching and other boat trips, mountain bike rides,
sportfishing and traditional tours offer additional sightseeing and soft
adventure opportunities.

During the summer of 1999, the 50,000-ton, 940-guest Crystal Harmony will
sail along breathtaking vistas of the Inside Passage and famed glaciers in
addition to calling in the ports of Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, and Ketchikan,
Alaska; and Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia.

In addition to the memorable scenery that distinguishes the New Frontier,
Crystal Harmony's Alaska cruises will showcase a new culinary series, "Great
Chefs of San Francisco & Northern California Wine Experts," for onboard
demonstrations, tastings, and gala chef's dinners. Also new for 1999, are two
optional extended land programs: a three-night pre-cruise culinary and
cultural tour of Napa Valley, and pre- and post-cruise stays at San
Francisco's premier property, the award-winning Ritz-Carlton.

As part of the 1999 Crystal Value Collection, promotional fares for
Alaska/Canada voyages begin at only $2,510 per person, double occupancy. The
Wine-Making Tradition of Napa Valley is $1,590 per person, double occupancy.
The hotel program starts at $295 per person for the first night, and $200 each
additional night.
