Gaunt Named Senior Vice President - International At Carnival Corporation

MIAMI, March 15 -- Ian Gaunt, a leading international and
maritime law practitioner, has been named senior vice president -
international for Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL), the world's largest cruise
operator.

In this newly created position, Gaunt will be located at Carnival's London
office where he will have responsibility for management and supervision of the
company's new building projects, acquisitions and various other ventures in
Europe and the U.K. Gaunt, 47, will also serve as liaison for Carnival's
interests and ventures in the European and British markets.

Gaunt, who will assume his new position on May 1, currently is a senior
partner at Sinclair, Roche & Temperley, the London-based law firm responsible
for negotiating all of Carnival's shipbuilding contracts, including nine new
vessels with an estimated value of $3.4 billion slated to debut between now
and 2003.

"Over the past few years, Carnival Corporation has dramatically increased
its involvement in the overseas travel arena," said Howard Frank, Carnival's
vice chairman and chief operating officer. "Ian's extensive knowledge and
experience in international and maritime contract law will be a tremendous
asset to our company as we continue to explore our expansion efforts abroad,"
he added.

Additionally, Mike Muller, Carnival's managing director - Europe, will
gradually transition the administrative responsibilities of his office to
Gaunt, as Muller plans to retire at the end of the year after 23 years with
the company. Muller will remain as a consultant to Carnival for two years.
"Mike has been a valuable member of our team and played an important role in
Carnival's international expansion," said Frank. "We thank him for his
tremendous contributions to the company and wish him the best in his well-
earned retirement," he added.

Gaunt earned his law degree from Cambridge University. He is admitted as a
solicitor in England and Wales and Hong Kong. He is also fluent in five
languages -- English, German, French, Italian and Mandarin Chinese.
