MIAMI, July 1 -- Royal Caribbean International recently opened
a Sharper Image store onboard Monarch of the Seas. The shop represents the
first outlet at sea for The Sharper Image(R), the specialty retailer of
quality electronics and state-of-the-art gifts and novelties.

"We chose to partner with The Sharper Image because of its reputation as a
market leader known for an outstanding product mix," said Jack Williams,
president of Royal Caribbean International. "This relationship demonstrates
our ongoing commitment to total guest satisfaction by offering new and
exciting shopping options."

More than 120 of Sharper Image's top-selling items will be stocked in the
floating store. Merchandise will include travel gifts, advanced-technology
products, electronics, personal care products, luggage, clean air products,
personal cooling systems and unique items such as model cars. Larger
products, such as massage chairs, that are not easily transported by guests,
can be shipped to their homes.

"We wanted to broaden the shopping experience for our guests, appealing to
both male and female passengers," explained Barbara Shrut, vice president of
Market Planning for Royal Caribbean International. "We chose products we
believe will please the most discerning shopper."

All products will be priced similarly to land-based Sharper Image stores,
but will be tax-free.

"We're proud of this new association with Royal Caribbean International,"
said Richard Thalheimer, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of The
Sharper Image. "Our goal is to share the fun of discovering unique,
innovative products that make life easier and more enjoyable. I think a
cruise ship is an inspired venue for a wonderful shopping experience."

Royal Caribbean International is operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., a
global cruise company, which is also the parent company of Celebrity Cruises.
The brands' combined fleet consists of 16 vessels in service with an
additional nine under construction. The ships currently visit Alaska, the
Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, New England,
