Seabourn Sun World Cruise 2002 Brochure Released; 102-Day Voyage Visits39 Ports Featuring 'The World at its Best'
MIAMI, Jan. 24, 2002 -- Seabourn Cruise Line has published a 42-page,
full color brochure promoting Seabourn Sun's 2002 World Cruise. The
attractive brochure is filled with complete details and stunning visual images
of the ultra-luxury cruise ship's second around-the-world sojourn under the
prestigious Seabourn banner.
"Seabourn Sun has captured the hearts of her guests over the past year,"
said Larry Pimentel, CTC, president and CEO of Seabourn Cruise Line. "With
her magnificent Spa du Soleil, the superb golf program on board, and single-
seating service of the cuisine lauded by Gourmet magazine, she is clearly the
highest-quality ship in around-the-world service."
Long renowned as Royal Viking Sun, the 758-guest ship has maintained a large
and loyal following after her $15 million refit in late 1999. Since her
rededication, the ship has garnered rave reviews from journalists, travel
agents and guests alike. Her first World Cruise following the refit, setting
sail in January 2001, is a virtual sellout, as past guests and newly
enthusiastic agents with eager clients scramble to be among the fortunate few
who secure space on board.
The 2002 version will no doubt prove to be equally popular. Sailing from
San Francisco on January 9, 2002, the cruise proceeds westward around the
world ending at Fort Lauderdale on April 22, 2002. The voyage is being sold
in segments from eight to 102 days in length, or guests can select any
customized segment they prefer, based on legality, and simply embark and
disembark where and when they like.
The Sun's World Cruise presents an itinerary filled with tantalizing accents
to the classic world tour ports. Evocative names like Nuku'alofa, Noumea, Nha
Trang and Yangon whet the appetites of intrepid explorers, as do Arabian
Nights fantasies such as Muscat, Salalah and Dubai. Beirut and Tartous are
also sure to enthrall eager world travelers. And even in chestnut
destinations like Sydney, Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore, Seabourn fulfills
its sterling reputation for delivering exceptional experiences and memorable
moments ashore. Private visits to museums and galleries, cultural insights
revealed through person-to-person meetings, and off-the-beaten-track
adventures are Seabourn's stock in trade, and the company is famed for
pioneering destination development that is often imitated but never equaled.
On board the global cruiser, life is very civilized indeed. The Seabourn
style has been fully realized in this, the company's largest vessel. The
trademark Scandinavian-style service is intuitive and anticipatory. Tipping
is never expected by the highly trained European staff. Cuisine is of the
finest, and served in a single seating in the ship's dining room. Alternative
Italian cuisine is available nightly in the intimate Venezia Restaurant by
reservation. Casual breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in the indoor-
outdoor Garden Cafe. Complimentary wines are poured with luncheons and
dinners throughout the ship.
Entertainment is programmed for variety throughout the 102-day World Cruise.
Extravagant revue performances are complemented by classical and popular
musicians, cabaret performers, combos and an orchestra for dancing. For single
women travelers, gallant Gentlemen Hosts(R) are on hand for dancing, dining
and excursions ashore. To broaden the mind and inspire the spirit, Seabourn's
Dress Circle enrichment program brings luminaries from the worlds of
government, science, entertainment and the arts aboard to share their insights
and the guests' journey.
Fares for the full World Cruise range from $30,995 to $162,079 per person
based on double occupancy and taking advantage of Seabourn's 20 percent
BEST(TM) savings for early booking. Airfares are included between the ship
and one of the 117 North American gateway cities based on the duration of the
segment booked. Full World Cruise guests receive complimentary First Class
airfare. Guests sailing on published segments of 43 to 90 days' duration
receive complimentary Business Class airfare. Guests sailing for 42 or fewer
days receive complimentary Economy Class airfare. Air allowances will be
deducted from the cruise fares if guests prefer not to use the complimentary
airfare.
