Beatles Fans Unite Aboard Holland America Line in Alaska
AGOURA HILLS, Calif., April 16 -- Join sixties rock band Fab
Four, the ultimate tribute, aboard Holland America's new ms Zaandam for a week
of Beatlemania this summer in Alaska on "Ticket to Cruise," a special group
program offered by Cruises Cruises Cruises travel agency.
The world renowned Fab Four and special guest host Sam Rubin, Los Angeles
radio entertainment editor and KTLA Morning News television personality, will
headline Fab Four concerts and exclusive retro parties, guest speakers, a
charity auction, movies and trivia contests for Beatle fans. The seven-day
cruise sails June 23 from Vancouver, British Columbia.
Called the best Beatles cover band in the world by KEARTH-101FM Radio in Los
Angeles, the Fab Four have performed all around the world whisking audiences
back to another era. They also recently recorded songs at Capitol Records for
the CBS TV movie "The Linda McCartney Story.
The 1440-passenger musically decorated Zaandam departs Vancouver to sail the
Inside Passage and visit Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan. Shore
excursions such as whale watching, helicopter rides, river rafting, kayaking,
hiking, bike riding, glacier watching and panning for gold will be available
to passengers. Children and young adults can participate in Club Hal's onboard
activities and "Just for Kids" shore excursions.
Holland America's Alaska sailings offer two exclusive programs that provide
cruise guests with an in-depth look at Alaskan native heritage, culture and
crafts. The "Artists in Residence Program" features an Alaskan native on board
to demonstrate a traditional craft such as ivory or soapstone carving, basket
weaving, or mask making from sealskin or cedar. The "Huna Interpretive
Program" provides rare cultural insight into Southeast Alaska's spectacular
Glacier Bay through the eyes of a Huna Totem member, a tribe that has called
the area home for centuries. Holland America features a full-time naturalist
aboard each Alaska cruise to discuss and point out wildlife and key scenery
throughout the Inside Passage.
In addition, next year, Cruises Cruises Cruises plans another Beatlemania
Ticket to Cruise with the Fab Four on May 2, 2002 aboard the 1266-passenger ms
Statendam sailing to Mexico and the Sea of Cortez. Round-trip from San Diego,
California, the seven-day itinerary will visit Loreto, Pichilingue (La Paz)
