New Itineraries and Swinging Big Band Theme Cruise Highlight HollandAmerica's Transatlantic Crossings for 2002

SEATTLE, Nov. 30 -- For those seeking a leisurely premium
cruise experience Holland America Line offers four transatlantic sailings in
2002 highlighted by new itineraries visiting Iceland and Greenland on board
the flagship ms Rotterdam and the swinging sounds of the big band era on board
the new ms Prinsendam.

Holland America's luxurious ships combine the classic ambiance of the days
when ocean liners provided the only means to travel between Europe and the
United States with all the amenities and on-board services that today's
premium cruise vacationers expect. Elegant furnishings, antiques and works of
art, sumptuous cuisine and an Old World charm create a warm, elegant shipboard
atmosphere that returns guests to the glory days of transatlantic ocean
travel.

"We have added more variety and ports because these cruises have proved so
popular with our guests, who enjoy the additional relaxing days at sea," said
David A. Giersdorf, senior vice president, marketing and sales. "And, with the
addition of new calls for Holland America at Greenland and Iceland, these
cruises are sure to appeal to those with an adventuresome spirit."

The ms Noordam, sailing from its new seasonal port of Tampa on April 14,
2002, will make the first crossing of the season. The unhurried 12-day
"Transatlantic Adventure" itinerary includes a call at Key West, with first
landfall in Europe at Horta and Ponta Delgada, Azores; and ending with an
overnight stay in Portugal's capital, Lisbon. With Holland America Line's Best

Flagship Forum Lectures Enhance the Experience on Most Europe Cruises

Most of Holland America's Europe cruises include the "Flagship Forum Lecture
Series," a fascinating way for guests to learn about the regions visited.
Depending on the itinerary, respected authorities speak on topics such as
European history, art and architecture, Scandinavian literature and music or
Mediterranean cuisine and culture.

Europe cruises of 14 days or longer -- plus all transatlantic and Prinsendam
cruises -- feature gentlemen hosts on board to enhance single ladies'
enjoyment of daytime and evening activities by providing company for dinner,
dancing, conversation and excursions ashore.

Guests may extend their vacation by booking connecting cruises in Europe or
Eastern Canada/New England to combine with their transatlantic cruise. Holland
America also offers an extensive selection of pre- and post-cruise tours so
guests can savor in depth the cities of embarkation/disembarkation.
