Holland America Line's 2003 Deployment Introduces 3 Ships, Offers 449 Premium Cruises to All 7 Continents
SEATTLE, Jan. 30, 2002 -- Holland America Line, the world's leading premium cruise line, announces its 2003 deployment, featuring the inaugural seasons of three ships -- the ms Prinsendam, ms Zuiderdam and ms Oosterdam. Holland America's 12-ship fleet will offer 449 five-star cruises ranging in length from three to 108 days and visiting all seven continents.
Holland America's 2003 cruises will sail from 12 North American home ports: eight with 10 to more than 100 sailings, and four with occasional departures.
"Our deployment for 2003 features a balance of perennial favorites, like Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, Panama Canal and Mexico, along with our new, easily accessible Canada/New England and Pacific Northwest/Coastal cruises, plus truly exotic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences like our five-continent Grand World Voyage and other itineraries that feature Antarctica, South America, Africa and the Asia/Pacific region," said David A. Giersdorf, senior vice president, marketing and sales.
"2003 will be an exciting year to cruise with HAL. We're returning to Europe with three ships. We'll have seven ships in Alaska for the first time ever. And our five-star fleet will deliver world-class cruises ranging from the 108-day Grand World Voyage to exotic 14- to 22-day cruises to such locales as Africa, India, the Far East and South America's Orinoco River," said Giersdorf.
Holland America's 2003 highlights include:
-- The new Zuiderdam, sister ship to the Oosterdam, introduced in December 2002 and continuing its inaugural season as Holland America Line's year-around Caribbean ship, sailing from Ft. Lauderdale all year on seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
-- The debut of the new 1,848-passenger Oosterdam, departing July 10 from Venice, Italy, on its maiden cruise, the first of a series of 10- and 12-day summer and fall Baltic and western Mediterranean cruises, culminating with a 12-day transatlantic cruise Nov. 23-Dec. 5, then two seven-day Caribbean cruises and two seven-day holiday cruises from Ft.
