QE2 to Offer 16 Atlantic Crossings for 2003
MIAMI, May 17, 2002 -- Cunard Line's world famous liner Queen
Elizabeth 2 will offer 16 different transatlantic crossings from April to
December 2003. The line has offered regularly scheduled service between the
U.S. and England since 1840. To enrich the experience, each crossing features
a theme, from great authors to classical music to exploration and discovery.
"People are intrigued by the civility and relaxed pace of a transatlantic
crossing," said Deborah Natansohn, senior vice president, worldwide sales and
marketing, Cunard Line. "We expect the demand for 2003, QE2's farewell
transatlantic season, to be exceptional."
QE2 will continue to operate Cunard's annual World Cruise and will offer a
full schedule of voyages departing from Southampton, England. Beginning in
April 2004, the line's transatlantic run will be assumed by the $800 million
luxury liner Queen Mary 2, currently under construction. QE2 has crossed the
Atlantic Ocean for some 32 years and is widely favoured by rock stars, royalty
and the international jetset. Today, a transatlantic crossing aboard QE2
takes six days and is priced from just $995 per person, double occupancy.

Often hailed as a "City at Sea," Cunard's acclaimed 1,791-passenger flagship
offers every five-star comfort so that passengers can travel stress-free
between Europe and North America. The ship features six separate dining
venues; several elegant bars and lounges; a European-style spa, complete with
steam and dry sauna; gymnasium and aerobics studio; cinema and theatre;
casino; modern Internet and E-mail centre; the largest library afloat,
complete with two staff librarians; florist; synagogue; golf driving range and
putting area; indoor and outdoor swimming pools; hot tubs; video arcade; and
duty-free boutiques -- including the only Harrods at sea.
The food aboard QE2 is as impressive as her facilities and amenities,
especially in the three Grill Restaurants: Queens, Britannia and Princess. In
fact, the Queens Grill is the highest-ranked restaurant at sea, according to
the respected Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships.
QE2 uniquely features a children's facility staffed by British nannies and
the only kennel at sea, so depending upon quarantine restrictions you can
bring along your favourite pet. For any women travelling alone, a brigade of
gallant Gentlemen Hosts(R) assures that they will not miss out on a dance or a
place in the social revelry. Every QE2 crossing also celebrates the best of
Broadway and London's West End with two professional production shows that
take passengers on a theatrical musical journey.
