Carnival, Princess, HAL, Costa, Cunard and Seabourn Raise Fuel Surcharge to $7/pcd
MIAMI -- April 8, 2008 -- Starting April 20, guests booking cruises on Carnival, Costa, Princess, Holland America Line, Cunard and Seabourn will pay an increased fuel surcharge.
A $7 per person, per day fee will be added to the first two people in any cabin, and $2.00 per person, per day will be added to the third, fourth and fifth guests in any cabin. Charges will be capped at $98 per person for the first and second guests, and $28 for any others.
This increase replaces the $5/pcd surcharge announced November 7, 2007 which applied to the first two guests in a cabin and did not apply any surcharges for additional guests.
Carnival said the additional charge only extends to bookings made after April 20th, and will be capped at $98 per person for the first and second passengers, and $28 for any others.
The company said the increase is unrelated to the agreement it reached with Florida's attorney general last week to give back $40 million in fuel fees.
