JACKSONVILLE, FL -- April 14, 2008 -- Carnival Celebration set sail today from Jacksonville on its final journey with Carnival.

The 1,486-passenger Celebration, which launched in 1987, will undergo extensive renovation before moving to Spain. The shp has been transferred to Iberocruceros, a joint venture between Carnival and Orizonia Corporacion, Spain's largest travel company.

Celebration was the first ship to sail out of JAXPORT year-round.

Starting in the fall, Carnival Fascination will take over Celebration's year-round four and five-day cruises to the Bahamas.
