NEW YORK, May 26, 2008 -- Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m., NCL's Norwegian Spirit struck the pier at New York City's West Side Terminal.

There were no injuries reported, but according to the New York Post there were visible scars to the bow and bent railings on a lower deck.

There were roughly 2,400 passengers aboard.

A Norwegian Lines spokesperson gave no reason for the accident, noting only that the captain and crew would remain at the helm. By 4 p.m. Sunday, the ship had been patched up and headed back to its regular 8 day Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
