Panama Canal on HAL

A cruise ship is an amazing way to see one of the engineering marvels of the world, a canal that unites two oceans.

Most full-transit Panama Canal cruises occur when ships are re-positioning to and from Alaska during the spring and autumn. For a full transit, schedule 15 days to sail between Ft. Lauderdale (or Tampa) and San Diego (or Los Angeles), or you can add four days to sail up to add Vancouver or Seattle.

There are also non-transit cruises into the Panama Canal. These cruises enter the canal and cruise in Gatun Lake, but do not cross. These cruises take 10 days, sail round-trip from Florida, and incorporate the Caribbean ports of Half Moon Cay (Holland America Line's private island), Curaçao, Aruba, Colón and Puerto Limon. Non-transit cruises are available November through early April.
