How much is internet / email?

In general the cruise lines charge 60c-75c a minute for internet access. The price goes down to about 40c if you buy a package.

Internet time is not cheap because the ship's connection is via satellite. This also means the connection is very slow.

There are some ways to save money:

• Bring a laptop and write your email offline, then only get online long enough to synch your e-mail program.
• Use the internet in the middle of the night when there are fewer users and a faster connection
• Avoid onboard internet and go to internet cafes when you're in port
